Health ministers' portfolios revealed by DH
The DH announced the full list of ministerial portfolios this week after the cabinet reshuffle earlier this month which saw Andrew Lansley replaced as health secretary by Jeremy Hunt.
Lord Howe will remain the health minister responsible for primary care and CCGs following the cabinet reshuffle. He will also have responsibility for the NHSCB NICE NHS reforms economic regulation and provider policy innovation and 'overall finance'.
New health minister for care and support Liberal Democrat Norman Lamb will be in charge of older people dementia mental health and long-term conditions. Conservative health minister Dr Daniel Poulter is tasked with looking after workforce issues including pay and pensions professional regulation NHS procurement IT and estates and facilities.
Anna Soubry the new minister for public health will look after vaccinations sexual health and preventing avoidable mortality NHS Blood and Transplant genetics and biotechnology complementary and alternative medicine and 'reducing red tape'.
