Freedom of information - here to stay!

Disclosure and freedom of information is set to be a big issue for commissioners and NHS organisation. The Justice Select Committee has just published its review of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the MPs seem to think it's a good thing and (subject to a few minor changes) it looks set to keep us in work dealing with many and varied applications.

Interestingly the MPs (supported by comments from the ICO) seem to think that the threat of finding minutes of meetings and discussions on the front page of the papers does not inhibit internal discussion.

I have set out the main issues from the report so please take a look and see what you think

Christopher Graham (the ICO himself) sets out his (contrasting) views in his blog - http://www.ico.gov.uk/news/blog/2012/foia-post-legislative-scrutiny.aspx

I guess we pay our money and take our choice.
