Bribery Act 2010 is on the way
The Bribery Act received Royal Assent on 8 April 2010 and will come into force when the relevant Secretary of State issues a commencement order, likely to be in October of this year. The Act simplifies the existing law on bribery and enables courts to deal with it more effectively. It also creates offences of, among others, accepting, or conniving in the acceptance of, a bribe which will be particularly relevant to public bodies.
