Standstill period calculator

Getting the expiry date of the standstill period right is extremely important, as giving the wrong date in an award letter or unsuccessful bidder letter could form part of the basis of a claim for ineffectiveness. Calculating the expiry date is not always straightforward, particularly given that bank holidays and weekends now have a significant impact.

Our standstill period calculator takes away all the hard work. Simply answer a few quick questions and it will confirm the last day of standstill, and the first date on which you can enter into the contract assuming that no proceedings have been issued.

Every effort has been made to ensure that results provided by the standstill period calculator accurately reflect the position under Regulation 87 of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, Regulation 102 of the Utilities Contracts Regulations 2016 and Regulation 48 of the Concession Contracts Regulations 2016. By using the standstill period calculator, you accept and agree that such use (and any use made of the results) is subject to our terms and conditions, which include a disclaimer and exclusion of liability.

Note that any failure to implement the correct length of standstill period may have serious legal consequences for a contracting authority. If you are at all unsure, we recommend that you seek specific legal advice.
