What can I do for you?
I am a construction and procurement partner. I specialise in advising on the creation of construction contracts, the application of the public procurement regulations and, separately, on state aid issues. My work involves helping clients, both public bodies and private companies, in a range of building and civil engineering projects in the UK and abroad. I also advise on the procurement of consultants and contractors, the application of the European Procurement Regulations and, where grant aid is required, the applicable state aid rules.
I work for regional development agencies, local authorities, universities, further education colleges and NHS trusts, as well as contractors and consultants.
I am there to assist projects to progress from start to completion and create innovative solutions to deal with legal and practical issues that arise. I support the development of all sorts of structures, from research buildings, student accommodation and industrial complexes to infrastructure work.
Supporting my clients’ objectives
As part of my role, I lead teams of lawyers working on a range of projects for clients. I ensure that the projects get successfully to completion, working with a mix of the disciplines on property, tax, corporate and commercial issues.
An interesting example of the sort of work I do would be the expansion of the outer harbour in Great Yarmouth. We dealt with complex issues of procurement law, commercial agreements and the agreement of terms of a construction contract for the creation of the outer harbour with a private sector partner.
Our aim is to always ensure that our clients’ objectives are met.
What do others say?
“Team head Ronald Plascow has ‘a remarkable grasp of construction law’. Sources describe him as ‘incredibly quick thinking’ and ‘never failing to impress’. Interviewees are keen to assert that ‘from beginning to end and top to bottom, all the staff here are solid and reassuring – and, most importantly, they deliver’.” Chambers UK
